Mackenzie Rhea
assistant director

Mackenzie is an experienced performer and has a passion for helping kids and teens explore and develop acting skills especially in the areas of scene study and character development. She has been a performer in shows such as Annie, Seussical, Beauty and the Beast, Honk, Little Mermaid, and Guys and Dolls. Her favorite roles include Gertrude McFuzz, Annie, and Ida. Mackenzie has years of leadership experience in a church setting both from the stage as a vocalist, and in a classroom setting as a group leader and teacher since the age of 14. She got her first taste of directing at 16 and, even though she loves performing, Mackenzie is leaning into a new love for more of what happens behind the scenes. She has been pursuing her directing career by apprenticing under Mr. Reid’s leadership. She has been involved with TxMTC from day one and has been on the directing team for every TxMTC production thus far and is enjoying every second! Mackenzie spent two semesters in the Disney College Program where she learned team lead skills from Disney leaders. She was promoted to a leadership position in the college program within the first month because of the leadership skills that her Disney leaders saw in her. Mackenzie is currently working toward a degree in theatre education and is thankful to have the opportunity to grow her craft while helping other artists grow in theirs.
