The Junior Theater Festival (JTF) is the world’s biggest and best celebration of young people performing musical theater. JTF brings together student musical theater troupes from all over the world for a weekend of musical theater mayhem and madness.
January 15-19, 2026
Important Info:
When are Auditions? If you are auditioning for one of our fall classes, please indicate on your registration form if you would like to be considered for our JTF team. If you are not auditioning for one of our fall classes, please email info@txmtc.org to set up a time to audition for the panel. All JTF participants must have participatied in a TxMTC show or camp in the last 2 calendar years or be currently enrolled in one of our classes.
What show are we doing? We will be deciding on the show based on the talent that we see at auditions. We have a show in mind but we want to make sure we can best feature our groups talents. The show choice will be determined by the vocal and dance skill levels we see at auditions so bring your A Game!!
When will rehearsals take place? We are planning for rehearsals to take place once per month for September and October and then pick up frequency after Thanksgiving. We will have mandatory rehearsals on January 3, and 10 and a parent preview night on January 13. A conflict calendar must be completed before you are added to the team. We will attempt to schedule rehearsals around conflicts. Conflicts will be heavily considered in casting and acceptance to the team.
How much does it cost? Last year’s trip was around $1200 per person. Payment can be made in a lump sum or paid out on a monthly payment plan. We will be having multiple fundraisers and opportunities to earn money toward the cost of your trip for those who participate.
